
What is Pride?
Biblically, pride is when a person becomes self-centered, self-reliant, and refuses to acknowledge The Most High as the source of everything.
Ecclesiasticus/Sirach 10:12
In the bible pride is called haughtiness, arrogance, loftiness.
Proverbs 16: 18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Some examples of pride mentioned in the bible:-
The Tower of Babel- In Book of Genesis 11, people built a huge tower to make a name for themselves and reach the heavens. Because of their pride, The Most High confused their languages and scattered them.
The Pharisee and the Tax Collector-In Gospel of Luke 18:9–14, Yahawashi gave an account where a Pharisee proudly bragged about his righteousness and a tax collector humbly admitted he was a sinner.
Yahawashi said the humble man was justified, not the proud one.
